The refurbished motel in Ilwaco Harbor, Salt Hotel, has that funky vibe you want—clean, cozy, and a complete bargain right in the center of a surging food & beverage scene. Five minutes from Seaview/Long Beach, 20 minutes from Astoria gives you a ton of restaurants, pubs, cafés, and coffee options. If amazing Italian food is your thing, do not miss The Curious Fork in Seaview. The Salt Pub, attached to the hotel, is a great meal with artisan cocktails and local brews/wines—just the thing for a nightcap before relaxing around the fire pit and watching the fog roll in. Surprise yourself and check it out! The only downside was how fast the stay went.

“We came down for the Rod Run and was pleasantly surprised by the Slow Drags.”

The Slow Drags were fun, but this was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. We were charged an exorbitant amount of money ($279 per night) for a 220‑sq‑ft room that barely had room for the bunk bed, and the ladder railings hurt your feet when climbing up or down unless you have shoes on.

“Salt is very cool”

Open, funky vibe, great staff and great service—Amber waited on us and she was amazing; we gathered for a memorial of a dear friend and she let us be at home at Salt, laugh and cry and connect. Thanks so much.

“Disappointed”

It’s close to the dock, but it feels more like a pub with rooms than a hotel. All communication is via text and there’s no human interaction. There was no Wi‑Fi the first night and no TV the third night, and nobody was available to help. The building is on the water, yet the windows face the courtyard so there’s no harbor view. It’s listed at $120 a night, not $220.
