LBD RESORTS & HOTELS KOLKATA

Breakfast and service were good, but the pool was dirty and not cleaned even after we asked. We booked apartments, so basic items like plates and cups should have been provided, and a microwave to heat food was expected. It seemed like a room only, but it was an apartment, so those basics were missing. No handwash or utensil washing bar was available.

The pool area is lovely and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are spacious and fully equipped, with AC in both the bedroom and living area that worked fine, though it might struggle in the hot session. Breakfast was simple but had everything needed for the day. A few check‑in hiccups were resolved by the manager. The room decor feels a bit tired with cracked tiles and ceiling stains. We only received 1 ltr of water at check‑in, which seemed stingy.

The staff were friendly, but the facilities and breakfast disappointed me. My wife and I stayed 14 nights in a one‑bedroom apartment that looked very different from the photos and felt dated. The telephone and safe were broken; a replacement safe was requested but never arrived, and the balcony had no seating. Breakfast offered only banana and papaya as fruit throughout our stay. After two days I asked for continental options instead of the curry‑based breakfasts each morning; the restaurant manager said they couldn’t be added to the buffet and would cost an extra ₹500 per person per meal. I paid, but the next day I only got three chicken sausages and a plate of fruit, which felt poor value. Afterwards I mostly had coffee and eggs; some coffee cups ran out and we were given small paper cups—a first for me in a hotel—and I raised this with the property manager, asking for something simple like fresh yoghurt. He promised to look into it, but nothing changed before departure. Room service was inconsistent: one meal was delicious, but when we ordered it again the quality was so poor we returned it. The housekeeping team and their manager were friendly and helpful. However, after settling my extras the evening before departure and requesting a full final bill, I was asked to pay more at checkout because some charges had been missed. Overall, I didn’t feel the stay offered value for money and would not return.

“Waste Trip”

Except for the restaurant, everything was a waste of money, time, energy, and mood. The bathroom, ACs, doorbell, gallery, and kitchen were all lacking.

“Stupidly mid-named 🤷‍♂️”

The rooftop café/bar is nice, but it has a different name than shown, making it hard to find.
