“Uma diária agradável”

The service is excellent! I had a broken leg that limited me, and they accommodated my request to put me in a lower bed. I stayed in a mixed room and the bathroom was clean and smelled nice. The curtains on the lower beds provide more privacy. It’s close to Mineirinho and Mineirão, so you can walk there—even for me who feels pain in my leg. Nothing negative. Everything was great!

The location is great for night joggers or walkers, especially near Pampulha. The hostel has a cool old‑house vibe with interesting décor, but the 12‑bed dorm feels out of place, more like a hostel than the rest of the place. The sink for washing hands and brushing teeth is pretty lacking, the bunk beds are too close together and only one side has a curtain. On top of that, I found three dead cockroaches in the room near my bunk.

“A nice little gateway”

I chose this basement dorm because it was the cheapest option for a quick stop before heading to Ouro Preto. The place was very clean, and the bathrooms were spotless even with heavy male use, showing the staff kept them well maintained. Breakfast offered plenty of good choices. Unfortunately, it was the rainy season, so the pool and outdoor areas looked poorly kept. I liked the overall experience; the only drawback was the distance from the city center, requiring Uber rides. If you want a quiet, safe spot with a lake view, this works well.
