Cozy in an unexpected place.

I rented a room and enjoyed a nice breakfast, but the location was dull and secluded, the bathroom was unpleasant, and the bed was ridiculously high.

Everyone on staff was very friendly and accommodating, the food was fantastic, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful, and it was perfect for traveling with a dog.

The setting is very beautiful right by the lake, the garden is well kept, and the breakfast buffet offers a good variety, but there are no closets or shelves for storage in the room.

Breakfast was excellent, the place is quiet and remote, very idyllic—this is a hunting lodge, so don’t be alarmed by hunting trophies in the hallway, reception, and dining area; the room did not meet expectations at all. You should know that you might stay in a “typical red house” rather than a castle or manor; the comfort level in the rooms is below the expected standard—air conditioning would have been desirable because the room heats up even at moderate temperatures. The windows can only be opened “completely,” which feels a bit awkward for ground‑floor rooms. A kettle should now be standard (the communal tea kitchen in the basement did not meet our expectations). One more quick note: the front desk staff were very friendly at check‑in and check‑out, but when guests come for breakfast, the staff should at least give a friendly “Good Morning” with a nod or smile if you don’t want to speak.
