“A beautiful property with friendly staff, but cleanliness, sleep comfort, food and the lack of shade at the pools didn&#”
The design is beautiful, and our pool villa was lovely, with stylish furnishings and a high-quality feel. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. Unfortunately, several basics didn't quite live up to the resort's five-star positioning. Our bed sheets were stained, and even the replacement sheets had visible stains, as did the upholstered bench at the foot of the bed. The door to our private pool was warped and wouldn't close properly. Combined with poor sound insulation, we could hear neighbouring guests and roosters from around 3:30 am. We also found the mattress and pillows very hard. What surprised us most was that there were no parasols at all, neither at our private pool nor at the communal pool. Our private pool had no sun loungers either. When we asked, we were told none were available. In this heat, relaxing by the pool without any shade simply wasn't possible, which is a real shame for a resort built around pool villas. The food was the biggest letdown. For a resort with a dedicated Italian restaurant, we expected the Italian food to be a highlight, but the pizza and pasta were mediocre and the prawn disappointing. At breakfast, the Turkish eggs came with sweetened yoghurt and the pastries were dry. Simple requests to leave out certain items were overlooked, despite confirming our orders. As the resort is around 30 minutes from Ubud with few alternatives nearby, better food would make a big difference
