We came as a family with three kids for four nights at Baridi Villa and were really satisfied overall. We arrived a bit earlier than the original time. The staff were very helpful and got everything ready for us as quickly as possible. At the welcome we also received a very tasty and refreshing drink – a nice start to our stay. We had booked a Superior Family room. The description said the room had two double beds. At the booking we were initially a bit disappointed that we would all sleep together in one room with three kids. We thought, “Okay, it’s only four nights.” The surprise was even greater when we entered our room: there were actually two separate bedrooms with a total of three double beds! We didn’t expect that at all and were naturally very pleased. So if you book the Superior Family room, know that it was two separate bedrooms inside the accommodation for us. Breakfast was always prepared quickly. It’s a local breakfast, simple but very tasty and especially filling. There were boiled eggs or omelette, Chapati (local flatbread), Mandazi and pancakes, plus watermelon and coffee. That was more than enough for us – we were comfortably full until noon. We were also pleasantly surprised by the pool. It was cleaned every day, and the water pump ran daily. During our stay there were a few power outages, which can happen in Zanzibar. In those cases the generator was always switched on, so that was not a big problem for us. My conclusion: If you’re looking for a place with excellent value for money, I can really recommend Baridi Villa.
