The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was excellent, and although it would have been nicer if it were closer to home, the spot was perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Moors; we loved our stay and will return. The only downside was having to leave.

Another lovely stay at the Wheatsheaf! It sits in a beautiful Dales village and works well for trips farther afield—Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle are within walking distance, while Hawes, Leyburn and Askrigg are a short drive away. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the cooked breakfasts are great, really setting you up for the day. We always dine there in the evening; their menu is varied, the food is tasty and well cooked, and the Sunday roasts are fantastic. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help. The only drawback was having to leave.

The welcome was warm and friendly, the breakfast was excellent, and the place was dog‑friendly. My room offered a nice view and the beds were comfortable. It was very convenient that we could leave our car in the parking until we returned after walking the Herriot Way. Nothing else to note.

Everyone was very friendly, the food was lovely, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was great. I would have liked a larger bed, but the room probably couldn't fit one.
