Overall, it was a nice place, but the pool needed a bit more attention—the water wasn’t clear, so I was afraid to swim.

“Definitely not a place to go!”

Absolutely nothing! The friendliest person on the resort was the night guard. As you enter the premises there are signs saying: "Absolutely No Alcohol". I checked in woman alone with 3x children, only to find 8 male guest drinking right in front of my bungalow. From a security perspective, I didn't feel safe. There is no way I can protect myself and my daughter against men that are under the influence of alcohol, and we had to sit in the bungalow to look at them, while they drink and undress. Further to this, upon arrival, the description placed on Bookings.com doesn't match what we received at all. There was hardly any cutlery, a very worn sponge to wash dishes with, ants everywhere, and no bowls for porridge, and the bare minimum in cutlery. I packed up and left, and looked for further accommodation with help of the locals in Vaal Marina. I am extremely disgusted with the service, the quality and the amount that I had to pay for this! Especially the fact that I was surrounded by people under the influence of alcohol

“Worst place ever”

Everything was dirty and not cleaned before we arrived. The geyser was off and not working. The kitchen light had to be replaced at 7 pm, and water was leaking from an old fitting that tripped the power. The front door handle was broken, and ants were everywhere in the unit. There were no TV channels, the open‑view decoder wasn’t connected, and the wires were cut.

The river view was good, but the maintenance was poor, the touches were dirty, and the beds were uncomfortable.

Being at the dam was amazing; just having to be there was enough to make it great.
