Tanjore Hi Hotel is the perfect base for exploring Thanjavur and its surroundings. I booked it last minute for a weekend trip, and it turned out to be a gem! The heritage house has been beautifully restored and decorated with a modern flair, offering spacious rooms, excellent bed linens, a super comfortable bed, and a bathroom with a tub and shower. The room and the hotel overall are impeccably clean. Because there are no nearby restaurants, the traditional South Indian breakfast served on the terrace on the third floor is a perfect way to start the day without rushing. The staff are very supportive and polite, especially Senthil Kumar who went above and beyond to make the stay perfect. I would definitely return to Tanjore Hi Hotel for my next temple pilgrimage. I would have liked a room with more natural light.

The property is in a great location and the staff were very kind and helpful. One of the rooms had a bad smell, and the breakfast was not very good.

Good value for money. The reception was a bit cold and the staff spoke little or no English. The hotel’s facilities were rather basic and the breakfast was also very Indian.

The hotel is well‑located and well‑restored. One employee was quite aggressive in his approach, but otherwise the reception was very good. The breakfast really didn’t live up to expectations.
