The location was fine and there were two bathrooms, but a humid, sewerage smell from the bathroom filled the whole apartment, the shower head in one toilet didn’t work, and the marketing was misleading—parking isn’t included and you must pay for street parking; the bed and pillow were uncomfortable, and none of us slept well for two nights.

I found the spot decent, but if you’re heading to the beach you’re on the wrong side of the island—though a scooter rental can sort that out. The check‑in is self‑service: a key box and gate password. A few shops and a night market are nearby, though it only opens twice a week. The phone operator was unhelpful, and you have to climb a flight of stairs where about 50 mosquitoes greet you. If you’re unlucky enough to stay in Barossa, you’ll hear the building’s doors open and close every time someone enters or exits, which is a bit annoying.
