A tidy, solid‑built mountain lodge tucked in a pine clearing, freshly renovated from its 1980s roots. The hosts are friendly and pop by now and then, and the self‑catering setup – big kitchen, dining hall, outdoor tables, a tent and even a wooden jacuzzi – makes it easy to stay on site. The downside is that the nearest restaurant is in Semkovo, a few kilometres up the mountain, and the access road from the main highway is riddled with broken asphalt.
The site is easy to find thanks to clear signposts, and the rooms have been freshly renovated and are spotless, plus there’s a pleasant communal tavern. Lighting the fireplace in the tavern warms the whole upper floor, so even on a summer night you won’t be chilly. The shared kitchen, while fully equipped, could use a facelift, and clearer markings for the trail to Semkovo – especially a safer creek crossing and a regional map – would help newcomers.
“Perfect place in the nature to escape and chill”
Denis and his dad were fantastic hosts, going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, and the newly renovated property has everything you’d need for a relaxed weekend. The main house is charming, and the extra villas we glimpsed look just as cozy; being only a ten‑minute drive from Semkovo adds to the seclusion and tranquility. One thing to
The place was so quiet I could hear my own thoughts, which felt more like isolation than relaxation. If you’re looking for a bit of buzz, you’ll probably be disappointed.
A truly peaceful spot with clean, comfortable rooms – perfect if you crave quiet. Just beware that the road leading there is in rough shape; a sturdy vehicle is almost a requirement, and a heads‑up for future guests would be appreciated.
