Very nice and helpful hosts. The location is perfect, only 50 m straight line to the sea, 200 m to the surf school at Dickwella Beach.

Our stay at the Art House was beautiful. The room was set up with great attention to detail, spotless, and had everything needed. It offered many things missing from other Sri Lankan accommodations (e.g., a bathroom shelf and storage). It sits directly across from the quiet, lovely beach. The owners are super friendly and helpful, going out of their way—e.g., they positioned our tuk‑tuk so we could leave more easily and surprised us with flowers, drinks and fruit. The value for money is phenomenal! ☺️

The room was wonderfully clean and across the road from the beach. The hosts took us on a tuk‑tuk ride to Blue Beach, which was fabulous. They also do great paintings at very good prices, and we bought two!

The owners were incredibly hospitable and invited us to dinner at their home one night. This place is a true gem, and I’d stay again in a heartbeat if I’m back in the area. It was clean, well maintained, had everything we needed—including a kettle, fridge, hairdryer, fast internet, and A/C. The place ticked all the boxes, and the bed and linens were spotless and comfortable.

The room was impeccably clean and had everything needed – air‑conditioning, a fridge, a kettle with coffee/tea, and bottled water by the door for a very low price. In the area you’ll find many great restaurants of all kinds and a nice beach over the street with bars and loungers. It sits on a street that’s quiet at night, so if you’re sensitive it won’t bother you. A room further back is probably quieter.
