“Authentic Luang Prabang charm in the heart of town”
The spot couldn’t be better – right in town’s center on the Mekong riverside, everything’s a short walk away. What really made the stay special was the vibe. It’s not a modern hotel, and that’s exactly its charm. The building is in classic Luang Prabang style, letting you feel the town as it’s meant to be. Sitting on the balcony and watching the old rooftops and quiet streets made me think, “Yes, I’m really in Luang Prabang.” That’s a feeling newer, generic hotels can’t give. There’s no on‑site restaurant, but if you order breakfast the staff will take you to a lovely riverside spot where you can pick from their menu. Starting the day with a riverside breakfast was a real treat. The bathroom looks newly renovated, clean and comfortable. Wi‑Fi isn’t the fastest, but it’s fine for everyday use. The staff were kind and helpful, and I booked a minivan to the railway station through reception at a very reasonable price. The facilities are a bit old‑fashioned, which fits the traditional feel. The only thing I missed was a fridge in the room, so there was nowhere to keep water or drinks cold.
“Shit.”
I found bed bugs and the room was far from what the website showed; I asked for a refund, but they only offered 50%, then changed my booking from 6 nights to 1 to cut their commission while still charging me, and they were unresponsive. DO NOT STAY HERE.
The spot is great, right by the river and close to the night market. The staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are clean with modern showers and good air conditioning. It’s a traditional villa, so the rooms aren’t fully soundproof or sealed, but after 23:00 there’s no noise. If you’re sensitive to smoke, you might catch a hint from the charcoal/wood kitchens nearby.
“Excellent value for money with clean facilities.”
I got a solid breakfast spread that was well cooked and felt like a good deal, especially since the hotel sits right in the city center.
The location is awful, service is terrible, and the room is bad. Only two rooms were occupied; the rest were empty. They gave us the worst spot, exposed to direct sun, and it was so hot that we had to use thick blankets. Over two days they never changed the sheets or towels, provided no service, and we had to fetch water ourselves. We booked with breakfast included but never received any. Communication in English was poor, the hotel sits behind street shops with no river view, and I don’t recommend anyone stay here.
