I really liked the hospitality from Son & Roberto. It felt like visiting old friends. The place was very clean and comfortable to stay in, nothing was missing. The garden is constantly tended, the house is built in a colonial style, and the interior is full of Son’s art.

A great choice! Even though we were worried about the zero reviews because it was new on booking, we made a good decision to trust it. We’re a 26‑year‑old Italian couple who stayed three nights. The room, although inside the villa where the hosts live, is very secluded and independent, with its own entrance to the garden and a terrace overlooking the jungle, the volcano, and Lombok island. Every morning we enjoyed homemade breakfast with fresh tropical fruit from their garden. The beds were comfortable, the room was spotless (daily service) and spacious, with a very large and luxurious private bathroom (huge shower). The hosts were very kind and helpful, even helping us rent a scooter locally to get around, and it’s also possible to rent a driver or car. Another service they offer is a massage at home by a professional (even a physiotherapist if you want). Host Son is Indonesian (available for advice you won’t find online), while her husband Roberto is Italian; they both speak English, Spanish, French, Dutch, and German well. From the house you can easily reach all necessary services, beaches, and tourist attractions. Two minutes on foot from the house is a magnificent local bar with views of the rice fields and the volcano. We’ll definitely come back because Amlapura is full of hidden attractions!
