The room came with plenty of nice extras like hand soap, hand lotion, a good range of drinks, biscuits, TV and a comfy sofa, and the breakfasts were tasty, locally sourced, and offered plenty of choices; the hosts were efficient and friendly, the room was spotless with plenty of high‑quality towels and linens, yet the Victorian building meant many stairs, and the plates for the cooked breakfast were a bit cold, as were the ramekins for the beans.

The bed was huge and very comfortable, the breakfast was tasty and generous, but the sash window rattled, the shower in the large bathroom could have been bigger, and a few minor details left a small dent in an otherwise great B&B.

The accommodation was clean, the staff were marvelous, and the overall standard was excellent, though it takes about a 20‑minute walk to reach the town centre.

The window was damaged and we had to prop it open with a block of wood during the heat wave; the bathroom floor was rising and there was mould on a milk carton we opened from the drink tray, and the cotton buds in a clear container were stained, likely from the sun or age.
