It was handy to have an on‑site restaurant and to be within walking distance of many places, but it would have been better if the building had a working ice machine (we had to leave the building for ice) and a microwave in the room instead of just on the floor.

The place is in an excellent spot, the rooms are roomy, the beds are comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s a restaurant and bar on site; the TV reception was a bit weak.

The location made it easy to reach the Cabot Trail and other Cape Breton tourist spots, and the weekly Caleigh was great, but the room felt a bit worn; during our three‑day stay we never got extra coffee or tea and no one ever came to the room.

The rooms were nice, clean, comfortable, and well furnished, but I was disappointed that breakfast wasn’t included and the only option was a $17 buffet, so we had to eat out in town.
