The hotel's location was the real showstopper - we had a front-row seat to the wildlife from our room, and it was surreal to see hippos, Pumbas, and buffalos roaming around the property. The food was also a highlight, with tasty meals that hit the spot. However, the real magic of the location was tempered by the occasional noise from the animals, especially at night when the hippos would wander around the hotel. Still, the comfortable room and good food made up for the minor drawbacks.

The staff here are genuinely top-notch, always smiling and willing to lend a hand. The food is also exceptional, with a great selection of dishes that are both tasty and visually appealing. However, the room itself is a bit of a letdown - the bed is tiny and the mattress is ridiculously thin, making for a pretty uncomfortable night's sleep. Still, the warmth and hospitality of the staff make up for the lack of comfort in the room.

We had a frustrating experience with Mweya Lodge's booking process. The company that owns the lodge started sending us messages while we were in Uganda, saying we'd lose our reservation if we didn't pay ahead of time. This led to a stressful 30 phone calls and many emails trying to sort out the issue, and we even received some suspicious fraud alerts. Despite all this, we eventually managed to pay at the lodge, but it did disrupt our trip for several days.

I'm still grinning from ear to ear after my stay at this gem of a hotel. From the moment I checked in, I was treated like royalty - the staff were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The room was spotless and comfortable, with a lovely view of the city that I could enjoy from the large window. The location was perfect, just a short walk from all the main attractions, and the breakfast was top-notch, with plenty of options to suit every taste.
