The breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide selection that was both well cooked and beautifully presented. The spot right next to the castle made walking to the town centre a breeze. Nights were quiet and the room was lovely, letting us sleep soundly. The hosts were very friendly and full of useful information. The only downside was that the double bed mattress felt a bit too firm for our taste.

Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked each morning with a lovely fruit salad. The fridge in the room stocked fresh milk and water, which was a real bonus. The town’s amenities were within easy walking distance, and a pleasant stroll to Rievaulx Abbey could be taken along the footpath from town.

Breakfast was very nice, though it would have been better if it ran from 8‑10 am since it felt a bit early for us elderly guests. The bed itself was a little uncomfortable for us.
