I stayed in a historic building, which brings both perks and drawbacks. The entrance is gorgeous, with a beautiful lobby, staircase, and mezzanine floor. The furnishings are stunning, and the mezzanine offers amazing windows. My room was huge, featuring two real king-size beds that were very comfortable. It’s situated right in the heart of the city, and the view from the room overlooks the city’s iconic buildings. The staff were friendly and helpful. The paid parking wasn’t part of the hotel and wasn’t mentioned in the description; it’s close but not integrated. The bathroom fixtures and room windows were rather old and could use a refresh. The biggest issue was the heating: the room was very cold, and when we asked how to turn it on, the staff explained that because it was early autumn they hadn’t yet switched from cooling to heating, so the heating wasn’t available. They were courteous and offered extra blankets and an electric heater that was already in the room, but for a 4‑star hotel, a cold room without heating is unacceptable, especially when outside temperatures were 14/16 °C.
