It was close to a riverside and had an indoor and outdoor onsen downstairs. The meals were delicious, the staff friendly, and the workout equipment looked well maintained even though I didn’t use it. The only problem was that it was hard to find because its sign wasn’t lit up, and we wish it were closer to the station.

Meals were excellent, and the staff were extremely responsive and caring. We also took advantage of the shuttle that runs from Nagano station to Uruoikan and back about 8 times a day. The futons were comfortable and the private onsen was beautiful and spacious. Tattooed guests were offered one reserved hour in the public onsen as a hotel guest if they booked the time in advance. The only thing that made me slightly uncomfortable was the pillow—it had one soft side and one harder side, and the other two guests didn’t mind it. I wish I’d known more about it, so I used my travel pillow instead.

The room attendants were very good, and I was impressed by the service. The private onsen was the only natural mineral water in Nagano city. The dinner was excellent, and the breakfast was also great.
