The location, building, and house history were appealing. Parking and surrounding nature were fresh, but the breakfast was very simple and lacked variety; fruit was missing. It was good that there were a fridge, microwave, kettle, and coffee maker for guests, but they also need to be kept clean and fresh. Rooms with private bathrooms were a plus. The cleaning was dusty, and the room and bathroom weren’t inspected before the next guest arrived. It was annoying to find forgotten clothes or old shampoo bottles in the cupboard and on the shelf. The mirrors were grimy (wrong polish?), and there were no hangers, wardrobes, or coat hooks in the room. The bedding, pillows, and towels hadn’t been updated, which should have been part of the “renovated” main building described in the brochure. We expected a more polished finish in a supposedly newly renovated main building. Windows were polished, but the guests’ coffee maker and kettle should have been cleaned. Old filters full of mold shouldn’t be left inside. There was no sink or water for guests to wash dishes themselves. Despite these issues, the accommodation and location are otherwise fantastic, and there is room for improvement.
