The place is exactly what other reviews say – a hostile environment. The manager and the guy she calls her boyfriend (we thought he was her son) never talk to guests and just bark at us. They’re living in one of the six rooms, sharing the bathrooms, and even keep two cockatoos in a tiny cage in their private room – the height of human misery. The manager told us she didn’t have to speak to guests because she was “at home.

The staff were awesome, always ready to help with any question. The whole place has a lot of character, but the beds are starting to show wear and tear.

The hostel’s location is great, but the whole place was suffocating with no ventilation. It smelled like it hadn’t been aired out in years, so I ended up sleeping in my car for fresh air and only used the bathroom.
