The room and especially the bed were fantastic, and the quiet location plus the beautiful biergarten next door were the best parts. The lighting, however, was noticeably too dim; there wasn’t enough light for reading after sunset, though it added a romantic feel.

The price was good, but the stairs were a nightmare for a stroller, the child’s bed was missing despite confirmation, the room was old and worn, there was no breakfast, and the parking lot was dark.

“Mückenalarm im Sommer”

The location is lovely and the biergarten is a dream, yet it’s puzzling why there’s no breakfast when it’s clearly listed—four kilometers further in Anger there’s a fantastic organic bakery that offers everything. Booking usually only shows positive reviews, so read what didn’t satisfy us too. We booked a two‑bedroom room, but it was set up for four people with a sofa bed, making it almost impossible to move around the bed. We had to dismantle it ourselves while staff were busy in the biergarten. It’s baffling that no fly screen is installed; the €50 would have been a sensible investment. There were blood stains on walls and lamps everywhere, and we added more. Dusty corners and cobwebs meant the place needed a serious cleaning.

We arrived a bit late, yet the staff were very friendly about dropping off the key. The room had a small window that had to stay open in summer, which brought a swarm of mosquitoes. We didn’t see any staff during our stay, and the room key wasn’t handed to us until the next day after some searching. Breakfast was not offered in early August, even though the place advertises a breakfast season.

“Bilder entsprechen nicht der Wirklichkeit!”

The beds were clean. The room didn’t match the photos, smelled of smoke in the hallway, and had worn furnishings with visible mosquito bite marks everywhere. We had to kill about 15 mosquitoes because there was no bug spray available. The reception was not particularly warm, and the kitchen closed an hour early. We’re usually camping, so we’re not demanding, but this room shouldn’t be offered to anyone else. Nature itself compensated us.
