“A peaceful little home in a gorgeous location.”

The home‑cooked meals were amazing and the views were spectacular. The hosts are also very friendly and helpful even though they didn’t speak English. Because there were no other guests in the house that night, they let us use both rooms.

“Had a wonderful stay!”

We had an amazing time! The hosts were incredibly friendly and kind, the breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the rooms were spotless and almost new. The area is beautiful and the mountaintop setting made for a relaxing escape. We’d love to come back and would definitely recommend it to friends and family visiting the region.

Staying at Utsuboyaso (うつぼや荘) was fantastic! The hosts were extremely welcoming, and the lady owner cooked a lovely homemade dinner and breakfast. The guesthouse is quiet, very clean, and feels newly renovated. After a full day of white‑water rafting on the Okutama River, it was so relaxing to soak in the bath before hiking Mount Mitake the next morning. There’s also an impressive shelf of One Piece figurines—a fun surprise for fans! It’s the perfect spot if you’re planning outdoor activities around Okutama and Mount Mitake. Highly recommended!

“Amazing place definitely worth a stay.”

First, I want to thank this place for accommodating my very late check‑in; I was flying in from Hokkaido on a late flight and just caught the last tram before it closed. I can’t thank them enough. They served me a piping‑hot dinner after showing me around, and it was the best dinner I’ve had while traveling in Japan. The breakfast was just as amazing and homemade. You can tell the hotel is cared for by people who value service. The hotel was exceptionally clean. I’m not sure when I’ll return to Japan, but if I visit Mt. Mitake again, I’ll book this room again and wish I could stay longer. I don’t have anything negative to say; it was exceptional. If I remember correctly there are only a few rooms, so finding an opening might be difficult.
