“Stunning views!”

I stayed with my family, two daughters, and the cliffside spot was amazing. The breakfast was pretty good and parking was private, but the dinner felt too simple.

We booked a sea‑view room in this old Victorian house, and the view of the bay was stunning. The downstairs breakfast room and lounge were gorgeous, with a relaxed yet luxurious feel and beautiful tables. The village of Lynton was tiny but had enough eateries, and the century‑old “train” that shuttled up and down the cliff was a fun, mechanically interesting ride that we used a lot because the slope was steep.

“Lovely little hotel in a beautiful location. As charming as when we first stayed there 50 years ago.”

The breakfast was fantastic—tasty, freshly cooked, with amazing freshly baked cakes and scones that were a lovely bonus. Kate, the baker, was wonderful. The décor overall felt a bit dated, yet we still had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The low‑lying location offered a fantastic view, the building was sweet with nice rooms, and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent. However, for the facilities offered the price‑performance ratio wasn’t convincing, and there was no breakfast‑to‑go option when checking out early.

Breakfast and dinner were great, and the best part was the hotel’s location and its size. The staff were excellent.
