Everything was perfect: the welcome, the meals, breakfast, the room, the staff’s kindness, and the calm of the Riad.

The welcome was spot‑on from start to finish. Dinner at the Riad was delicious. Our room was flawless and spotless. The pool was very pleasant. The staff—including Abdel in particular and the young smiling one—were exceptional and very caring. The Riad is also perfectly located in the heart of the Medina. I have nothing to add because I genuinely loved everything.

The property is gorgeous, right in the middle of the medina, with easy access to the taxi rank (5 min walk) and a sweet balance of being in the medina without being overwhelmed by the souks. Staff are excellent and the décor is lovely. The terrace pool is nice. The front‑desk team are fantastic and give a thorough briefing on arrival. However, there’s a strange odor in the property; we were told it’s from nearby tanneries, but it was specifically in our room, so it’s probably an AC issue. The AC was also much weaker than in the other room we rented. Rooms could use dedicated tables for the kettle and crockery, as the supplied ones are tiny. The pool area also had an unpleasant smell, again supposedly from the tanneries. I’m not sure if it’s the Riad’s fault if the explanation is correct. Wi‑Fi is slow, likely due to the solid walls, but I hope this feedback is taken constructively because it’s a lovely property in a great location with great staff. At this price, the above issues become more noticeable.

I was blown away by Riad Houdou – we came from the UK and fell in love with the place. The whole crew were super welcoming, especially Abdel who spent time at check‑in handing us loads of useful tips about the Medina and helping us the whole time. No request felt too big or too small. We hit the jackpot with a junior suite that was spotless, well equipped, a decent size, and came with its own private courtyard and little pool. It’s close enough to stroll into the Medina, yet still a quiet oasis away from the occasional rush and midday heat, and we felt safe and secure. There are plenty of communal chill spots with cool touches – ice‑cold filtered water dispensers, board games, and even a resident tortoise and cat! The rooftop terrace is gorgeous for relaxing or taking a dip. Breakfast is served there, mixing continental fare with local pancakes and eggs, all tasty and fresh. Thanks, Riad Houdou team!
