Crystal Beach Nungwi

The location is beautiful with sea views, the hotel always has its feet in the sand, loungers are provided on a small private strip of sand. The staff are very kind, welcoming and always ready to help. The food is very good for breakfast and the other meals. Two other restaurants are a 2‑minute walk via the beach on either side of the hotel. Our room was on the floor, a bit small but functional and no fridge. From what we saw, the ground‑floor rooms are larger and have a fridge. The shops are 15‑20 minutes on foot. We walk through a whole village that isn’t lit at all in the evening. The hotel is a little off‑center with pros and cons. In the morning at 5:30‑6:00 we were woken by local football teams training on the beach and they were very loud 😂 The mattress was very hard.

“Incredible location with stunning views from the bedrooms and very quiet and peaceful.”

The location in Nungwi is incredibly quiet, service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. The beds were very comfortable, the upper room was very spacious! When the power was on the AC was enough to keep us cool. The beach in front is nice, at low tide we walked past the tip to a shallow section of gorgeous sandy beach. Power kept cutting out. The backup generator ran only 33 % of the time we were there, and when it was on the air conditioner and fridge lost power. The generator was very loud and smelled of bad diesel, so we tried to close our windows but it still got hot; a ceiling fan helped but other times the generator wasn’t on and it was really hot with the outages. Some places had solar backup and I wish this location could invest in solar battery backup to power lights and fans since the power went off a lot.

“Well run facility in a great location”

The location and breakfast were exceptional – the room views were breathtaking, staff were super helpful. Power in the area is very hit and miss so we had multiple power cuts during our stay.

I’m back at Crystal Beach Nungwi Hotel for the second time, and every time it’s very comfortable and peaceful ❤️ I love this place for its atmosphere, the ocean right next to it, clean and spacious rooms, and of course the incredibly friendly staff. The food is a separate love! 😍 Especially the schnitzel with mash – it tastes like it was made at home. Thanks to the whole team for warmth and hospitality. Until next time! 🌊🤍
