The B&B is run by a single mom, and because it’s women‑only it’s incredibly clean with all the necessary amenities—bath towels, face towels, cute pajamas, a gown, disposable slipper pads, water, and cups. I had no unpleasant experiences, and the breakfast offered about five options, including homemade jam and soup that I was impressed by. Thank you, mom, for watching soccer with me. Parking is plenty. The area around the B&B has few places for dinner, so if you really want a good meal you might need to drive a bit, but that’s not a problem.

“I would definitely come back and stay with Grape mama again! I loved the surroundings and her home.”

Grape mama was the best host I could have asked for! This woman is so attentive and caring, I felt right at home! She kindly picked me up from the station and even took me to onsen (just a 4‑5 minute drive) every night! I couldn’t have been more grateful. She is very sweet and welcoming, and I just felt like I could rely on her no matter what. The breakfast was amazing every single day! She really loves what she does: running the B&B and having people around. It was a little cold at night; I’m not used to that, but it was still comfortable: the bed, the blankets, the pillow! I have back issues, so Grape mama gave me an extra futon and I slept like a baby.

“Two nights stay in this lovely place to enjoy the Japanese Alps”

The hostess was incredibly sweet! She picked me up and dropped me off at the train station every day I was there, and helped me plan an itinerary, figure out where to go and what to do. She guided me on which buses to take and gave great suggestions for the area. The breakfast she makes is incredible! She also made me tea several times a day and warmed up the bathtub when I needed a shower. I felt so taken care of and comfortable. Though the location is a little remote, this was exactly what I wanted. There were very few tourists, only a few locals who had travelled there to hike. The city is very cute and peaceful, and the scenery is amazing! If the sky is clear you can even see Mt. Fuji from the upper floor! It was such a great place to relax and unwind, as well as experience the lovely Japanese mountains. My only regret is that I didn’t spend another night or two 😅

The breakfast was fantastic, with the host aunt personally cooking a beautiful and tasty morning meal. The courtyard has a Japanese feel, and note that only females are allowed to stay. We drove there, so it was easy to find, and the host aunt had already asked if we needed a pick‑up. The room is upstairs, a cozy little space with a small balcony overlooking the courtyard, where you can smoke. There are two single rooms, but if two women want to share, they can combine the beds. When we left, the aunt was still at the door, bowing politely from a distance.

I had an amazing stay in a traditional Japanese house! Mama cooked a great breakfast every morning, mixing Western and Japanese dishes, homemade soup and jam. The kitchen comes with a fridge, cooker, and microwave. The rooms and beds were very comfortable, cute, with a nice heater and a bathroom that has a shower and bathtub. Mama-san supplied towels, nightgowns, and all bathroom amenities, including a great hairdryer, shampoo, and conditioner. The Wi‑Fi was excellent. Mama-san was very welcoming, and her living room could be used for dinner or relaxing. The terrace offers a view of Fuji‑san. Mama picked us up at the train station and brought us back when we needed to take trains to Arakurayama, an amazing park with views of Fuji‑san. It was the best homestay we had in Japan! Arigatogozaimasu Mama‑san ♡. Everything was great.
