Good value for money and a nice breakfast.
The beds were fine. The air conditioning didn’t work, the TV signal cut out a lot, there was no coffee in the room, and there was leftover trash left in the room. The staff couldn’t figure out how to print a receipt for me.
“Won't be coming back.”
The breakfast was pretty good. The pull‑out couch had old blood‑looking stains on the mattress protector. The ceiling had obvious water damage, making the room feel lower quality. The worst part was that they didn’t change the sheets between guests; under our covers we found an old dried contact lens, hair, and debris. We told the front desk, and she said a manager would reach out, but no one ever did.
The bed was very comfortable, check‑in was quick and efficient, the location was excellent, and the coffee was great. The TV kept going in and out of service. The staff were pretty good with us, but one of them was short‑changed and struggled to troubleshoot an elderly guest in front of us. We had to leave early, so we missed breakfast. Could you leave some items for guests who leave early, especially since breakfast doesn’t start until 7 am on weekends? Usually we’re at a hotel on weekends because we have to be somewhere early. Your customer has to pay for it anyway, even if it’s just granola bars, fruit or cold cereal—just something.

We’ve stayed at several hotels in Cedar Falls, and the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cedar Falls has been by far the best, especially compared to the very disappointing and grimy Suburban Studios Cedar Falls we visited in March. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cedar Falls Hotel was spotless, the staff super friendly, and the breakfast plentiful and tasty. Nothing else to add.
