“Very disappointing, yet somehow acceptable, I suppose.”
The price was fairly reasonable but a bit pricey. The kitchen had plenty of working appliances. The bathroom was functional and clean, and the shower was the highlight with good water pressure and hot water. The entire studio was reasonably tidy, and a single Swiss‑approved trash bag was provided. No bugs. Frosted windows gave privacy. A fan and microwave worked. It’s a large studio apartment, nothing more and nothing less. The owner replied quickly, but I’m not sure if it was a real person or a chatbot. I would recommend it if you’re not particular about location or beds. I cannot recommend this place in good conscience if you have trouble walking uphill or downhill, or, on a lesser note, if you have sensitive skin. The bedsheets were very rough and uncomfortable, to the point of triggering my eczema. It was very warm inside, even with all the windows open and the fan on—just for context, I stayed here in September when the average outdoor temperature was about 20 °C. The kitchen had many appliances, but no cooking oil, and the dish soap provided was heavily watered down to the point of being basically useless. There were crumbs in the toaster and on some plates. A closet hinge was broken, so I avoided it. The security deposit was fifty francs, which was a lot of money. The checkout instructions told guests to clean the dishes, pick up after themselves, and generally tidy the room—annoying but fair. My main complaint is twofold: this studio apartment sits at the bottom of a very, very steep and lengthy slope. There was no mention of it in the listing. This must be considered when booking. There are handrails on most of the slope, for what it's worth. It is unpaved and bumpy, extremely unfriendly to wheelchair users or people with mobility issues. I have leg braces, and it was just barely manageable with breaks. Also, the apartment is fairly hard to find from the train station; even with the instructions, it took me twenty minutes to locate it, largely because of the slope. It felt like a point‑and‑click adventure game, but worse, because I was hauling luggage.
