“It was ok for a night , I wonted to stay somewhere that wasn’t a chain hotel.”
The views and staff were good. I was excited to see the pictures, but when I arrived it felt more like a camp. We struggled to locate the office entrance, so clearer signage would help.
“This would have been great 20/ 30 years ago!”
The area and surroundings were beautiful, and we had a great time horse‑riding. On arrival we checked into our cabin and were immediately disappointed – it was a drive from the main complex and sat in shaded woodland, a mosquito paradise! The rooms were musty and dark. After talking to reception we moved to a room closer to the complex, which was brighter and odorless. The pool was quite cool and poorly heated; opening times were not advertised and we were restricted. The diving board seemed unsafe due to low or no maintenance. Shared toilets and changing rooms were not very clean. The laundry room was dirty, showing signs of a recent flood that hadn’t been cleaned up. The “A La Carte” menu is best approached with some skepticism; it was cooked well but not what we expected.

I wish we could have stayed longer than one night! We stayed in Farmhouse Cabin #8 and it was perfect for us – clean, well equipped, with a nice front porch and rocking chairs. We used the fire pit to relax at night and walked a short distance to the lodge for a delicious breakfast in the morning. They allowed a late check‑out, so we could visit the farm and stables and swim in the nearby swimming hole. The scenery and mountain surroundings were great! The pool wasn’t open, but we found a nice spot to swim by the river.
