The bedroom was roomy, clean, and the beds were comfortable, and I loved the jacuzzi bath. The bedroom lock doesn’t secure from the outside; the owner mentioned previous guests broke it, but a review from June confirms the same issue. You should be able to lock the property from inside when you leave, so a new lock is needed. There are no blinds in the bathroom, and the neighbors opposite can see in, which made showering feel a bit exposed and paranoid. The sign on the front door was printed on A4 paper and written in pencil/pen, looking unprofessional. The spa is about a 20‑minute drive away, which isn’t great.

“Great location but in need of some TLC”

It was a big space & very light & bright. The main room has amazing views down to Lake Windermere. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have a sofa too. The jacuzzi bath was good & the shower was powerful. It was nice to have milk in the fridge. It was a good location for shops & restaurants etc. Home owners were responsive to messages. I thought there was dedicated parking on site but there isn't so you have to hope there's a space on the street. I also assumed the spa access would be a local place we could walk to but it was over 20 minutes drive from the apartment so we didn't end up using the facilities. It would be a good idea to have an information sheet with the WiFi details on, where the spa is that you can use & how to access the facilities & also what TV channels are available & how to access them if it's not working properly. The first evening we were there the TV just kept freezing on whatever you put it on so we couldn't watch anything. After mentioning this to the owners they looked at it for us & it was a little better though we couldn't watch any of our programmes on Now & the 5 streaming channel wouldn't work as it needed an update. The door to the apartment doesn't lock from the outside so when you go out you have to leave it unlocked; I would suggest getting this fixed as well as the bathroom door which doesn't shut properly. The bathroom mirror over the sink, the bathroom radiator & behind the beds needed a thorough clean. Some hooks on the doors to hang coats or towels in the bathroom would be a nice & easy addition. In general the property felt a little tired; there were cracks, chips in the paint & tiles & it just felt like it could do with a skim, paint & tidy & freshen up to make it really top notch
