The spot was super handy, but the toilet and shower were just okay, which I can understand given how old the building is.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location was central—just a 10‑minute walk to Sao Bento. The room had a bathroom window that couldn’t be closed; that window with a skylight was the only natural light source. At night the courtyard was noisy, and you could hear every guest who rang the hotel bell from your room. The shower had no hot water, the sink fixtures were a bit limescale‑covered, there was no table, and the bathroom door couldn’t be shut.
