The Onara rooms were exactly what I wanted. The room has an AC, which was great, a small but handy kitchen with a fridge, and an en‑suite bathroom. Perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. The welcome drink coconut was a really nice touch. I personally don’t like Weligama, but there was nothing wrong with the location of the homestay; you might just want to have a scooter as it is located on the edge of the bay.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a good AC. The lady who runs it is wonderful. If you do grocery shopping she will cook dinner for you! I can guarantee she cooks very well. For anything she is always available and smiling. Highly recommended.

If possible I would give it an extra 10 stars. The host is so kind and really does everything to make the stay as pleasant as possible :) The room is super clean, the mosquito net around the bed is truly worth it and I had peace every night, especially :) There is a small workspace which is very important to me. The bathroom is really big and the kitchen in front of the door is also fully equipped, and the host cooks everything for you if you bring the ingredients.

We spent 5 nights. The host and his children are adorable and very welcoming. We felt at home. There’s a small garden to eat outside. The bed is very comfortable and the air conditioning is a big plus! We recommend it for the simplicity and quality of this place.
