“Cómodo, nuevo y acogedor”
The room was spacious, brand‑new, with a well‑working air conditioner, very comfy beds, a fridge, hot water, a porch, and overall everything was great. The pool was clean and had hammocks; it’s located on the porch or the owners’ entrance, which feels a bit odd, but it’s nice to arrive from the safari and take a dip. When we arrived there was no one in sight, and a very friendly woman who was cleaning rooms appeared right away. We booked the safari through them; after you reserve they send you info, then I looked up details elsewhere and they adjusted the price. In the end we paid 90 dollars per person for a group of four, all day. They pick you up at 4:45 and you’re finished around 5 pm. I would have taken the afternoon slot; the whole morning feels too long for a safari, you see everything you need to see and then you’re just wandering around aimlessly. Next to the lodge there’s a restaurant that serves great food; there isn’t much else nearby, either at this place or elsewhere, because everything is spread out. We rented a tuk‑tuk and got there easily. The only downside is that nothing is close by, but that’s more about the area being spread out than the hotel itself. A reception where you can check in and get some brief explanations would be nice.
“Het was een prettige start van onze reis door sri lanka”
The nature right at the door, the surroundings, and the friendly staff were great. The poor connection was the only drawback.
We really enjoyed our stay. The host Isuru is an amazing man—kind, caring, and genuinely interested. He’s also entrepreneurial, always eager to learn what he can improve, try new ideas, and actually makes everything himself. I wouldn’t book another safari through this place, though. We saw all the animals, which was fantastic! The guide barely said anything, spotted almost nothing, and even fell asleep during the tour, the driver did the same. At some spots we actually sat still for 40‑60 minutes under the pretext that “maybe something will appear,” which felt like a waste of time.
“Séjour agréable en pleine nature”
The cleanliness, the large room, and the location next to the national park were perfect.
Located on the edge of Wilpattu National Park, this small lodge has about five units, each with its own covered outdoor area. It’s quiet and has a little pool. We did the walking safari, which was a fun and interesting introduction to the area. The next day we arranged a jeep safari in Wilpattu through them and it was well taken care of. The nearby restaurant Groen is great for lunch, and the dinner at the lodge in the evening was also tasty.
