Saubagya Inn

“Komfortabel, Achtung vor Scam”

We had a very pleasant stay, the host was very nice and the room was comfortable. WARNING: Scam attempt! A few days after checking out I received a WhatsApp message from the host claiming that authorities had visited him and collected my passport data. He alleged that during a payment in AncientCity Anuradhapuraura (which we did not visit) something went wrong and the cashier had charged 60 Rupies instead of 60 USD. Shortly after, I got a WhatsApp message from this imaginary cashier, with the same claim (AI profile picture). I do not want to badmouth the accommodation, as we had a comfortable stay, but I want to warn future guests about this fraud scheme.

The hosts are so kind; it’s definitely the best homestay in the city.

“Lovely place”

Great place, the family are very friendly and make you feel at home, but it would be good to be able to pay by card.

“A nice and comfortable base to explore the city”

I stayed two nights at this property, everything was perfect, the location is ideal for exploring the city, and the owner is very kind and will give you all the information—everything was perfect.

Friendly owners, very knowledgeable, a basic room but everything we needed, though the room next to the living room was a bit noisy at times.
