“D'autres options existent sur Amed alors fuyez (l'hôtel ne semble pas contrarié par un avis négatif)”
The gardens (much better tended from dawn than the rest of the property) and the view of Mount Agung were the only highlights; we tried to keep our time there short, using the pool only once in a four‑day stay and leaving early because other guests were noisy past 10 pm, which the staff ignored despite disturbing our sleep. The staff were practically absent and far from the friendly service we’d experienced at other Bali hotels, restaurants, or on the street. The rooms were dark, run‑down and only marginally clean, with unreliable hot water.
The breakfast was disappointing—both poor in quality and far too light for a diving destination, leaving us with almost empty stomachs before four hours of snorkeling on day one. In the following days, despite having paid for breakfast, we ate at the nearby restaurant where a single portion barely fed two people until early afternoon, even after a full morning of diving. The rooms were very dirty: dust, cobwebs, suspicious stains on the sofa and mosquito net that we avoided sitting on. We left our luggage in the suitcases, only placing shoes and dive gear in the bathroom. Our daughter developed itching and rashes the day after arrival, which worsened over time; it took persistent complaints to get a brief 1‑minute‑30‑second inspection of the bed, which yielded no comment. The only response was “Leave a negative review on Booking,” something we’d never heard before. My husband and son suffered the same skin issues on the last day, which only began to fade a week after we got home, despite having no known allergies. A strong naphthalene‑like smell greeted us in the room, on the bedding and towels, leading me to suspect overly harsh cleaning chemicals. No housekeeping was done during the four‑day stay.
