Be warned: there is no hostel by that name in Caraíva. I ended up at Hostel D'Avila (the “Hostel da Pracinha”) after following Maps, and the current tenant told me she’d only been there six months and didn’t have a listing on the usual sites. The suite I paid for was already given to someone else. When I called the contact number, a woman named Thais answered and said she hadn’t worked there for a year and that Tiago is the owner.

The spot is great, right where you want to be, but the cleaning left a lot to be desired—bathrooms and rooms weren’t up to standard.
