The room was lovely and clean, but the street parking was not clearly marked as we expected a spot based on the description.

The place was ideal for a football away day at The Hill Dickinson Stadium, clean and tidy, and offered good value. The owner was very helpful on arrival and arranged parking away from the ground to avoid delays when leaving.

Very close to the football stadium, but there was no breakfast.

The hotel was close to the event we were attending and clean, but the surrounding area was unpleasant with abandoned houses and graffiti on the opposite side. It was on a busy road, and all communication was via text; no one was on site. The bar manager would help as much as possible, but he wasn't running the hotel side. Our room was double-booked, so someone tried to enter about an hour after we did. They gave us the same room number twice, which was surprising. The narrow stairs, lack of shower gel, and no iron (though an ironing board was present) were inconvenient. The bathroom floor was lifting, and the window, though double glazed, let in a lot of noise. We only had one pillow each, and after checking everywhere, that was all. The kettle had to be boiled on the floor because there was nowhere to put it, and we were given two bath towels but one was dirty and there was no shower gel. The TV was on the wall but positioned so it couldn't be seen from bed. We had spent the previous night in town at Radisson Blu, which was cheaper, and we only moved because of the Blackstone gig. Radisson was far superior. In hindsight, I wish we’d stayed at Radisson and taken an Uber after the show. I rarely leave a negative review, but the missing key on arrival and the double booking are significant, and the rest cannot be ignored. The price I paid was high, and I expected more. Bottom line: if you raise your price to ridiculously high levels the week before, at least provide the service that price demands, or just don't do it.
