The simplicity and cleanliness were appreciated, but there was no modern comfort – no electrical outlets, USB, TV, or fast Wi‑Fi, no rolling shutters, no double glazing, and no TV at all.

The location, spacious room, good bed, and friendly host were positives, yet the host was often hard to find when you needed something, and the breakfast was subpar for the price.

We booked dinner and it was exceptional, but the photo you see shows a derelict building, not the actual accommodation; another building to the side is nicely furnished but access requires climbing old, uneven, steep stone steps, and the corridor down to the rooms lacks lighting entirely, making it dangerous and bizarre – you’d have to feel your way without a torch.
