“Posizione favolosa!”

Strategic location, practically on the beach! No complaints. The rooms are inside a historic building, with shared kitchen and dining area. I chose it deliberately, so it fully met my expectations.

Near the beach. The room was dirty, no cleaning took place during the stay, and there were no accessories to clean it myself. Little artificial light. Dated furnishings. The kitchen is shared with other guests.

“This is a lovely home, with wonderful hosts! I felt right at home, and they were very accommodating and kind.”

The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, even giving me a lift to the cemetery so I could visit relatives. The only downside was the music outside the bar on the weekend, which was a bit loud right by the window.

The TV doesn’t work, and the rooms are only separated by a single door, which limits privacy.

“Ottima location condita da una pessima accogliena”

The location is great, just a short walk from the town centre and the beach. The building is old but well maintained, though a few minor repairs would be welcome. If you expect the brochure’s description, you’ll be disappointed: there’s no hand soap, shower gel, or shampoo, so you have to buy your own. You’re thirsty and want a cold bottle of water from the fridge, but there isn’t one, even though the supermarket is nearby. The flat‑screen TV is a tiny model that works sporadically; the coffee machine is missing, and after a formal complaint you finally get it, but it comes with only 8 pods for four days for two people. If a pod breaks, as happened, that’s a problem. The air‑conditioner works, but the drain container is missing, so the external unit dumps water straight onto the road because the drain pipe is broken, and it’s been that way for a while. The breakfast, which is supposed to be a B&B, is basically nonexistent because they say they want to respect distancing, even though there’s a brand‑new kitchen and a panoramic dining room. In five days no one came to empty the bin, replace the toilet paper roll (you can buy it yourself), or clean the sink. It’s a shame; this isn’t the best way to honour a beautiful location and a historic residence in Marina di Patti.
