We went to the viewpoint and then to the town for dinner and to soak up Minca’s atmosphere, but when we got back to the hotel a little after 22:00 we discovered the power was out. The reception was already closed and we couldn’t find any staff; the place was practically empty and no one could help us. We checked nearby properties and saw they still had electricity, and even the town’s shops were lit. With no power we tried to sleep, but it was sweltering and nothing worked, and there was no emergency backup system in sight. The electricity finally returned around 02:00, leaving us nearly four hours without power during our only night there. At checkout the next morning we told the lady at reception what happened and asked for a partial refund of the more‑than‑400,000 COP price, but she said the outage had hit the whole village and lasted only about an hour. I showed her videos proving the duration and that other places had power, yet she downplayed our complaint. We received no compensation and, surprisingly, no apology for spending most of our night in those conditions. We later filed a claim, and the hotel admitted the outage occurred but still claims it was a village‑wide issue.
