Hostgram Hotel City View

Only the location was good; after two days I had to move to another hotel because of overbooking. I booked a double room but received a single.

“Hotel jen pro otrlé”

The central location was fine, but I booked this place by mistake; I had stayed at City view Cairo before, and this one is called Hostgram City view Cairo, so that was the mix‑up. During my entire stay nobody brought out the trash, changed the towels, or refilled the toilet paper. The clogged drain in the bathroom was fixed by my husband himself. I could tolerate the hotel being a bit cramped, but the fact that no one did anything was almost provocative. The staff just sat there playing on their phones. Breakfast was a nightmare, with no tea, coffee, or water delivered to the room.

“Rooms close to Tehrir square and the Gobus office .”

The place used to be a fancy apartment, now it's just hotel rooms that do the job. They’re clean and simple, and the staff were great, letting us check in hours early. The TV was broken, and even after a guy tried to fix it it was still not working, so we were left wanting to sleep.

They tried to be helpful by switching our room when the Wi‑Fi in the first one was completely non‑functional, and in the second it worked only intermittently. The location is convenient for visiting the city center and using the subway. The building is quite run‑down, the cleaning was poor, the bathrooms were awful, the sink was very small, the shower was malfunctioning and often clogged because there was no shower box. Overall we found the rooms less welcoming than in the photos.

We had a pleasant weekend stay here. The spot is superb, right next to restaurants and cafés, and the room was neat and cozy. The only downside was that the air conditioning took a while to bring the room down to a comfortable temperature.
