The spot was gorgeous, and the staff were welcoming and set up transport from the airport for us. When we needed a scale to weigh our luggage, they were quick to hand one over. I’d suggest this place for a brief visit (1–2 nights) because it’s close to the airport, but for a longer stay I’d look elsewhere. What bothered us was the bathroom faucet leaking constantly. Housekeeping was another problem: our room wasn’t cleaned, so we had to message the owner to send someone over. They explained that in Sri Lanka daily cleaning isn’t typical and guests must request it, yet it seemed fair to empty trash bins and change towels every other day. The trash wasn’t taken out, and we even spotted a cockroach. They promised 19 litres of drinking water, but the container was dirty and not full, so we ended up buying bottled water at the supermarket. The biggest headache was the noisy neighbors; almost every night around midnight or 1 a.m. they’d argue loudly, ruining our sleep. While the staff can’t control other guests, they could have spoken to the neighbors and asked them to be more considerate.
