“Terrible”
Location—close to the road. The receptionist was unprofessional and mishandled our booking, which was wrong on the lodge’s part. We booked the day before, and on arrival no one on site knew about our rooms; it took more than 30 minutes to try and find us any rooms after hours, and after hours of driving you’d expect a smooth check‑in. We asked for rooms close together, but none were arranged; our rooms were more than a kilometre apart. The website showed a discount on the rooms, yet the reception was clueless about any of our information, claimed their website was down, and wouldn’t even try to validate or contact us, making us feel like crooks or liars. The photos on the site were nothing like what we were offered; the first room was so dirty 😭 I felt embarrassed to let my colleague stay there, so I had to request a room change and find a room closer to us. We weren’t comfortable having her sleep so far away, especially with the violence against women in our country; the mishandling of our booking made us feel uncertain and uncomfortable. After being assigned rooms, our bedding was unimaginable—bed covers were covered in blood stains and faced down so we couldn’t see. I’ve never had such a horrible stay before with bookings.com. In the morning we were asked to pay more for a room change, and the hotel did not compensate us for all the inconveniences. The receptionist was determined to make us pay and couldn’t even apologise for the mismanagement. Overall, the security guard tried his best to help, and the cleaning staff were very friendly.
