The place is close to the old town, but there’s no air conditioning, no elevator, the rooms are tiny, there’s no lounge, and they don’t serve eggs for breakfast.

The breakfast, which costs extra, was really good, the hotel had a tasteful recent renovation, the morning reception staff were charming and helpful, and being close to the old town was a big plus. But in late September ’26 the weather was very hot and, as advertised, there was no air conditioning, so we couldn’t sleep with the windows open. We were stuck in a street‑side room that we couldn’t change because everything was booked. The hotel’s location meant that people were walking in front of our room, down the street, from bars and restaurants right into the early hours. At about 6:00 am the garbage collectors started their rounds, shouting loudly as they worked. Noise was constant all night and into the morning, and when we closed the windows the room was unbearably hot. The hotel had been nicely renovated 3–4 years ago, but the front desk explained that installing air conditioning was impossible during the renovation because the building is old and part of national heritage, and the façade is quite plain. The price might have been another factor. We were surprised there was no staff after 8 pm, even though the entrance instructions were clear and hassle‑free. If we needed anything, we’d have to wait until the morning to talk to reception. The hotel really takes a laissez‑faire approach.

The breakfast was very good, and it’s right in the historic city center with restaurants all around. Parking was a huge problem, especially on Saturdays when the streets around the hotel were pedestrian zones and a lot of cars were looking for a spot. We had to walk more than a quarter of an hour with our luggage to find a place, which was annoying. Some information about this before booking would have been useful. It would have let me drop my partner at the hotel with luggage and then go park somewhere farther away but less troublesome for me alone.

The atmosphere is friendly, the bedding is excellent, and the location is great. The only downside is that there’s no elevator.
