“Clean and Modern, Safety Deposit Box, Microwave, Refrigerator”
The staff were helpful, the closet had 12 hangers (half with hooks), and there were two large drawers and plenty of electric plugs. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, and a safety deposit box – one of only two hotels I stayed at that offered that. The bathroom was clean and modern with enough lights, and there was a coffee maker. The location was decent, though the biggest supermarket (Safeway) was about a half‑hour walk away and Shoppers Drug Mart was about 8 minutes away. Victoria Laundromat at 735 Victoria was a 15‑minute walk, and the receptionist helped me with it; Come Clean Laundromat, supposedly on 2035C Osler, does not exist. The #1 Broad Street bus stops very close to the hotel and goes to Government House. The Royal Saskatchewan Museum is a 20‑minute walk. There was a computer in the lobby with internet access. I thought there was no body lotion, but at checkout I found small bottles at reception. The only downside was some noise from a garbage or delivery truck in the morning. The room had only one chair (a wheeled desk chair) for the two double or queen beds. I couldn’t get ice from the ice machine; the receptionist told me to try again, which was wrong – the correct method is to hold the bucket in the air beneath the spout. Even then, the ice was scarce. The heater could only reach 24 °C, which wasn’t quite enough on a cold, rainy spring day.
