No one welcomed me; I had to find another hotel. Everything was awful. The area is terrible. The access to the property is poorly marked and located in a bad spot.
The room was good. The entrance was not.
The location is convenient near the station, metro, and local bars. The renovated apartment feels welcoming. The cleaning lady and the owner were friendly and helpful. The nearby bars are affordable and genuine. The air‑conditioner works. However, the apartment is large and split into three rooms with a private bathroom. When booking, it wasn’t clear which room I had, because only one has a jacuzzi. My room lacked both a jacuzzi and a balcony, and the window faced a large, ugly terrace that I couldn’t access. There was no table with chairs, no kitchen… The four‑person room was a bit small. The area, while very convenient with interesting nearby venues, is also quite run‑down with drug users’ needles scattered around and drug‑addicted homeless people sleeping right outside the building. The street behind the house gives a feeling of low safety, especially at night, but that may just be an impression because the area is extremely multicultural and the perception can be misleading. The check‑in, check‑out, and luggage drop‑off times were a bit stricter than a typical hotel. Inside doors are not sound‑proof, and a group of guys tried to open my door with the code at 3 a.m. (probably by mistake). To get up, there are two steep staircases. No big problems. There were no screens on the windows.
