“Posizione strategica, ma comfort, igiene e condizioni dello stabile decisamente deludenti”
I stayed in the studio at B&B Chez Moi, mainly because it’s close to the train station, which is definitely its biggest selling point. Unfortunately, the overall experience was negative for several reasons that I feel obliged to warn future guests about. First, the elevator is out of service and the accessibility is extremely inconvenient: after a previous fire, the elevator can’t be used. To reach the studio on the fifth floor, I had to climb 132 steps on 11 stair ramps, which was a considerable discomfort, especially with luggage, and it was exhausting after having to return to the building multiple times during the day. This situation is hardly compatible with the normal comfort expected from a tourist stay. Second, the building’s conditions and safety concerns: the stairs and common areas still show clear signs of an old fire—blackened walls, deteriorated plaster, exposed wiring. The attached photos document the state of the places. Given the previous fire, it’s concerning that I didn’t find carbon monoxide detectors or clearly identifiable fire safety devices along the route. I can’t assess whether the installations comply with regulations, but I think the observed conditions deserve special attention. Third, unpleasant odors in the studio: inside the accommodation there was a persistent smell of smoke, with hints that could also be cigarette smoke. This further compromised the enjoyment and comfort of the stay. Fourth, the bathroom and maintenance were lacking: both the sink and the bidet were missing aerators, resulting in an uncomfortable water flow. The shower head also had an uneven spray. These are minor maintenance issues that should already be addressed in a hospitality establishment. Fifth, the bedding and hygiene were unsatisfactory: there was no mattress protector, and the pillows had only pillowcases, not pillow covers.
