The Casale from the early 1900s was nicely renovated; we stayed on the ground floor to avoid stairs, though the upper floors had more original charm. The back garden was comfortable with a decent pool, but returning to the hotel around 17:00 in September made a swim less appealing. The bathroom, which had windows, felt poorly designed to us: the shower enclosure was closed by a curtain that didn’t reach the floor, so the floor and curtain got wet, the hot water made the curtain move and created a nuisance during showers. Breakfast at the table was just adequate, probably due to the low‑season period.
